Windows 10 came with a lot of new features and with no shortage of performance improvements, but one of its biggest achievement is fast boot up times. If your Windows 10 is taking longer to boot up, then make sure this setting is enabled on your machine.
The feature is called Fast Startup. This makes your machine shutdown in a special way. Rather than dumping everything in the RAM, it makes an image of your loaded kernels and drivers in something called hiberfile when shutdown. It helps in fast startup because when the system boots up again it simply reloads that file which makes boot times much faster. To enable this Amazing feature, follow this steps:
1- Open Additional Power Options. You can find them in Power & Sleep Settings.
2- Click "Choose what the power buttons do" on the left side of the window.
3- You need Administrative Rights for this. Click "Change settings that are currently unavailable."
4- Under "Shutdown Settings" make sure "Fast startup" is enabled.
On a clean install, this setting is enabled by default. But if you are upgrading from an older version, it might not be. When I checked my PC it was disabled, but now it is enabled I can see considerably faster bootups.
